A SOMALIAN shop-keeper allegedly chopped off a customer’s finger last week.

Louisa Davids entered the Somali’s shop in Lebombo Street in Carterville. She wanted to buy cigarettes, but an argument ensued between her and the owner.

They ended up outside the shop, on which the owner pushed Davids to the ground.

He went back into his shop, returned with a panga and attacked her. In defence the woman covered her face with her hands and was struck on her little finger.

She was rushed to hospital with her finger hanging by only a thread of skin. The finger could not be saved and was amputated.
