A Roseville man is on the front lines of Minnesota-led humanitarian efforts to help starving families in his native Somalia.
Yusuf Ali, who had not seen his homeland in 20 years, left for Somalia on Sunday on a humanitarian mission to help 300 starving families in Mogadishu, the East African nation's capital. Ali and with several other Somali-American leaders have teamed with two international aid groups headquartered in Minnesota to organize relief efforts for Somalia.
The two groups are: The American Refugee Committee and American Relief Agency for the Horn of Africa.
