Prime Minister tells Mr Wako to begin the process of unearthing the perpetrators of the crime committed 27 years ago

Mr Odinga said he was confident that the inquest would unearth the causes and those responsible for the heinous crime committed 27 years ago.
He was speaking in Wajir on Monday during the 27th anniversary of the Wagalla massacre, one of the worst chapters in the country’s history.
Mr Odinga at the same time directed the Ministry of Northern Kenya to liaise with the Ministry of Education to build a Wagalla memorial school in Wajir.
Mr Khalif, who was the area MP, died in a plane crash in Busia soon after the 2002 General Election.
Mr Odinga further asked the ministries of National Heritage and Northern Kenya to build a museum in Wajir town in memory of the victims of the Wagalla massacre.
The PM said many crimes had gone unpunished in Kenya, including the murders of Pio Gama Pinto, JM Kariuki, Tom Mboya, Robert Ouko and Odhiambo Mbai.
He added: “Those who planned and executed violence during last election must be punished even if I am one of them or else such people could cause worse chaos in 2012.”
He said the Wagalla massacre was reckless use of power in the country’s short history.
