WASHINGTON (AP)— An accused pirate who pleaded guilty to attacking two ships off the coast of Somalia will be sentenced in Washington.

Jama Idle Ibrahim reached plea agreements in both cases: an assault on the USS Ashland and an attack on a Danish ship called CEC Future.

He's being sentenced Thursday in the CEC Future attack. Ibrahim pleaded guilty to being part of a group that captured the ship and 13 sailors, most of them Russians. The pirates got a $1.7 million ransom and left the ship.

Two years later, Ibrahim was captured after a failed attack on the USS Ashland and was brought to the U.S.

Ibrahim was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the Ashland case and is expected to get 25 years in the CEC Future case.
