The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) on Tuesday condemned deadly blasts that hit the Ugandan capital Kampala on Sunday, saying it was a "senseless terrorist attack."Twin bombs went off on Sunday in Kampala, killing at least 74 people and wounding hundreds others at two sites as they were watching the World Cup final. Al-Shabaab, a Somali-based militant group with links to al-Qaida, has reportedly claimed the responsibility for the attacks.
The attacks were "a terrorist act of cowardice that runs against the Islamic values," Secretary General of the pan-Islamic group Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said in a statement.
Ihsanoglu also offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
