Addressing yesterday the final session of the mini- summit on the security situation in Somalia held by the Committee of Intelligence and Security Service of Africa (CISSA) at the Friendship Hall Khartoum, Mohammed Ata said the meetings were characterized by participation and dialogue on the security and humanitarian positions in Somalia.
" The summit is one of the mechanisms of exchanging expertise in the field of information and ideas among member state," indicated Mohammed Ata , praising the outstanding participation in the occasion.
CISSA yesterday rolled back the mini-summit it convened in Khartoum with focus on situations in Somalia. 19 African security leaders and the African Union representative in the Somali participated in the event.
Chairman of the Summit Preparatory Committee Maj. Gen.(Security) Hanafi Abdallah , told reporters that participants presented crucial briefings on Somali that diagnosed the security situation up there in details for the sake of deliberation on how to figure out workable proposals for breaking the regional and international isolation the country is in , along with restoring and promoting security and stability utilizing regional and national efforts in that regard.
" The African security leaders have emphasized mobilization of political support in favor of the Somali government efforts to realize peace, upgrade capacities of its security and military institutions. The leaders further underscored support of national reconciliation between the Somali government and other stakeholders," said Abdallah adding that the meeting has stressed the importance of supporting the AU efforts to stop fighting and violence as well as the significance of collaboration of local and foreign humanitarian organizations .
Concluding his statement, Abdallah reported, " The security leaders as well called on the international community, NGOs , notably the UN Agencies to help achieve political and humanitarian stability in Somalia.
