GENEVA, - Somalia Friends Group led by Yemen permanent representative to the UN in Geneva Ibrahim al-Adoufi has held a meeting on humanitarian needs of Somalia.The meeting discussed the possibility of holding periodic events to consider needs of Somalia and its neighboring countries that are shouldering burdens of the difficult humanitarian condition due to the unstable situation in Somalia.
In their meeting, the friends of Somalia affirmed the importance of exerting more efforts to provide the necessary aids through contacting with the international organization working in Somalia.
Somalia Friends Group is a relief and development initiative in response to necessary humanitarian intervention in Somalia to bring about changes from within promoting economic and social justice.
It includes Yemen, Somalia, Italy, USA, Britain, UAE, Norway, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Australia.
