Cooking for a cause


 


What – This event is a:

  • class on cooking a 3-course Somali meal – salad, entree (chicken, vegetarian options), dessert

  • fundraiser,

  • delicious meal, and

  • slide” show featuring stunning photos of life in El-gal, Somalia.


Who is the host? Who may attend?

  • This event has been organized by East African Rural Development Foundation (EARDF), a Seattle-based 501 c3 nonprofit dedicated to increasing the water supply to drought-plagued villages in East Africa.

  • The instructor, an EARDF volunteer, is from Somalia, and has prepared meals for prior EARDF events to much acclaim.

  • Class registration is open to the public; number of spaces is limited.


Cost: $25 suggested minimum donation

Where: Whole Foods Roosevelt Square - Culinary Center (1026 NE 64th St.; Seattle)


Why: Funds raised from this event will be used to build a well in El-gal(village in Hirraan, Somalia).
