St. Paul, Minn. — The Minneapolis School Board has approved a wide-ranging plan to overhaul district schools, programs and transportation.
The 7-0 vote last night means the plan, called "Changing School Options", will take effect after this school year.
Four schools will close, while other programs will be moved. Every student will now live in one of three zones that will determine which school they're most likely to attend.
Pratt School, which serves a mostly Somali population, was slated to close, but will now stay open because of a last-minute change made to the plan.
