Ambassador Dayib Doubad Robleh, Republic of Djibouti’s new ambassador to Somalia submitted his credentials on Sunday November 1, 2009 to Somalia’s president, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
Issues demanding his immediate attention will include: carrying on the Somali Reconciliation process and strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two brotherly countries.
Amb. Dayib spoke to president Sharif about Djibouti’s concerns over the ongoing attacks by the Armed Opposition Groups (AOGs) and explained that he not only wishes to carry on his duties but he is also very happy to undertake his mission in his second home, Somalia, at this critical juncture of Somalia’s history.
The President further stressed that if the International Community is serious in their statements of support to the TFG in stemming the savage attacks of the criminals of the AOGs, they need to follow the example of Djibouti at once and send their Diplomatic Representatives to Mogadishu. This is at the moment the most important sign of solidarity that we expect from our International friends at a critical juncture of Somalia’s history.
President Sharif praised Djibouti’s unwavering efforts and position in resolving the Somali problems and assured the Ambassador that he would continue his personal cooperation with the Republic of Djibouti brotherly and cordially.
