The Somali pirates strike yet again, this time hijacking an Indian dhow with 16 crew onboard as it left the north coast port of Bossaso, in the Gulf of Aden.

Local officials and a regional maritime group reported that the seizure took place about 15 kilometers off Bosasso port in Gulf of Aden waters.

Director of local Puntland region's fishing ministry Abidwahid Mohamed Hersi said that the boat had just unloaded goods at the Bosasso port and was on the way to Dubai. The pirates wanted to use the boat to hijack other ships.

The Indian dhow operates regularly between Saudi-Arabia and the African coast and the Puntland authorities have already dispatched a security order to re-capture the vessel.
