TWO teenagers were stabbed to death just three hours apart after gang violence erupted in the capital.

Kul Hawalied, 19 — known to pals as Hassan — was attacked by five men as he filled up his car at a petrol station.

Hours later Michael Wright, 17, became the third London teenager murdered this year. Police were hunting for their killers last night.

A gang wearing bandanas surrounded Somali Hassan and knifed him in the chest at High Weald Garage in Harrow, North West London, at 7.30pm on Thursday.

A pal called Abdulwahid was stabbed in the body but was “stable” in hospital last night.

Friends believe it follows an escalation in tensions between local Somalis and a gang of Afghan and black youths.

The victim’s friend Abdul Hassan, 22, said: “I’m sure the guys who killed Hassan didn’t know him. He was killed for being Somali. He wasn’t involved in gangs.”

Grieving

Student Hassan was the youngest of eight children. His sister, Ubed, said at the family home in Colindale, North London: “I don’t know why anyone would want to hurt him.

“He’s not the type to get involved in fighting or gangs.”

Michael’s family were also grieving last night after he was found stabbed near Maryland Railway Station in Stratford, East London.

He was rushed to hospital but died soon after. Police believe the attack may have happened nearby.

They appealed for witnesses who may have seen him arguing with other young men.

Cops were investigating if the killing was linked to the murder of Steven Lewis, 15, in a turf war in Plaistow, East London, last month.

Michael — often known by middle name Simon — was known to police as a robber and belonged to a gang.

But his brother, 15, fought back tears as he said: “I’ve no idea why he was stabbed — no one was after him. He was a very popular lad.”

Meanwhile, five teens were last night under arrest after two boys of 15 and 16 were stabbed in Chingford, East London, on Tuesday.

Last year a record 28 teens were killed in London.
