POLICE are appealing for witnesses as fears of retaliatory attacks in Wealdstone grows.

Two Somalian boys were stabbed in the area last night and many in the community are talking about a string of attacks that have allegedly been going on for a week.

Chief Inspector Nigel Crane, responsible for operations at Harrow Police, said: “If people have any information in relation to the events that took place in relation to the Somali man we need to know what they know.

“It's important that they fill in the gaps instead of people in the local community filling in gaps that aren't there.

“We need to prevent these gaps being filled with rumours which can then lead to people taking retribution, which can lead to more people getting injured.”

Hassan Kul Hawadleh, 19, of West Hendon, was knifed after stopping to fill up petrol at a Total garage, in High Street, Wealdstone, last night.

His friend Abdulwahid Guled, 19, was also stabbed in the attack, but is in a stable condition in hospital.

Anyone with information can contact police on 0203 123 1212, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
