Somalia’s newly elected president Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed was expected to arrive in Addis Ababa late on Saturday to attend the African Union (AU) summit, sources said here on Saturday.

The president who replaced Abdulahi Yusuf is expected to be welcomed by his colleagues in Addis Ababa where he will discuss his country’s political affairs with various leaders.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi on Saturday welcomed Sheikh Sharif’s victory.
He is elected for a four-year term.
