They were joined by 17 locals. Later, the 25-member team, including eight Pakistanis, started its mission in the remote areas of Somalia. According to him, when they were busy in Tableegh after Fajr prayers in a mosque of Galkayo (Somalia), they were attacked by six gunmen.
He said:” Our six persons named Haji Muhammad Iqbal of Karor Lal-Eisan (Layyah), Dr Muhammad Ramzan Qaiserani, Maulvi Saghir Ahmed, Maulvi Zahoor Ahmed (both real brothers) of Taunsa Sharif, Subedar Major Juma Khan Buzdar (Retd) of tribal area of Punjab and Abdul Hameed died on the spot, Haji Ghulam Mustafa of Karor and Abdul Qadar Buzdar of D.G Khan were injured.
He said that four of them would be buried in Somalia according to their will, while arrangements were being made to take back the injured persons and bodies of the deceased. Relatives of the victims alleged that they were shot dead in the presence of law-enforcement personnel.
