BELEDWEYN, Somalia, April 29 (UPI) -- Somali gunmen attacked the house of a foreign aid official in Beledweyn and injured at least three people, witnesses said Wednesday.
Local residents told the Shabelle Media Network a group of armed men hurled hand grenades at the home of an official of the U.S. aid group Save the Children, and that the man's wife, daughter and a visitor were injured, one reported in critical condition at a hospital.
There had been no comment about the incident from the Islamic Courts Union, which controls the Somali town in the Hiran region.
Shabelle said the attack was the latest in a string of recent assaults against foreign aid workers in south and central Somalia.
