Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) – Delegates led by the chairman of the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia (ARS) is currently in Nairobi, Kenya.

The delegates are holding talks with members from the international community and aid agencies in Nairobi about the implementation of the Djibouti Accord and how aid agencies can help Somali civilians suffering inside Somalia.

Professor Mohamed Abdi Gaandi who is with the delegates told radio Shabeele that reasons for their presence in Nairobi include seeking support for the Djibouti Accord and how humanitarian assistance could be provided to many Somalis who are live dire humanitarian conditions in Somalia.

The ARS which was founded in Asmara, Eritrea broke into two factions after Sheik Shariif Sheik  Ahmed and Shariif Hasan Sheik Aadam, two top leaders in the Alliance, decided to support the Djibouti conference while other leaders in the Alliance opposed it.

It looks like that the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and the ARS are determined to implement the Djibouti Accord. Groups opposed to it, however, are waging deadly armed struggle against the TFG and Ethiopian troop supporting the TFG.
