Mohamed Jama, 31, was shot and killed the morning of June 25 in full view of other people inside the hotel, according to Brooklyn Center authorities.
Police said there are still people out there with critical information in the case who haven't yet come forward, and so they are offering a $5,000 incentive.
Jama was a basketball and soccer coach who served as a mentor to Somali children at the Brian Coyle Community Center in Cedar-Riverside.
Friends said it was likely he was visiting Somali basketball teams from around the country that were staying at the hotel while they were in town for a tournament when he was shot.
Police urge anyone with information to contact them at 763-569-3333.
