Roadside bombs have killed two civilians and wounded at least three African Union peacekeepers in the Somali capital, officials said. A remote-controlled roadside bomb targeting Somali government soldiers killed a man and a woman passing by in the Elgab neighborhood of southern Mogadishu, a police spokesman said.
In a second explosion, a landmine blast wounded at least three Ugandan troops serving as peacekeepers in Mogadishu near the airport on Saturday, a spokesman for the AU force said.
Fighting in Mogadishu alone killed 6,500 people last year, according to a local human rights group tracking the death toll.
