The Somali Women's Association in Norway wants to assist the police in identifying those who take with them girls to Somalia for sexual mutilation.
Vice chairperson Zainab Hashin says the Norwegian-Somali society is transparent, and that it is easy to find those who have been sexually mutilated.
The head of the Somali Network in Norway, Bashe Musse says stricter regulations coupled with an information campaign are necessary.
He also says that Somali men must take more responsibility and show more engagement.
- We need a fatwa (Islamic decree) against sexual mutlitation. This would make people stop the practice, Musse says.
