Emirates SkyCargo to Djibouti

02-Feb-2007 : EMIRATES SkyCargo will add Djibouti to its freighter schedule from 18 February 2007. The route will be served once a week with an Airbus A310-300F offering a gross payload of 39 tonnes.

Emirates SkyCargo expects to carry manufactured and consumer goods, machinery and IT equipment to Djibouti, particularly originating from the Indian Subcontinent and the Far East. Djibouti exports will include personal effects.

“This new route represents Dubai's ongoing investment in East-African and a natural extension to support Djibouti's logistics requirements. Djibouti is a medium-haul destination for our A310F freighter route and will compliment our services in the area very well offering sufficient size and optimum speed,” commented Hiran Perera, Emirates’ vice-president cargo freighters.

Emirates recently commenced daily flights to Khartoum Sudan, operating A330-200 aircraft 17 tonnes of cargo-carrying capacity on the route.
