Hundreds of the federal government police have been stationed in some districts of Mogadishu, Hodon and Halwadag early morning on Sunday.

The police claim they are conducting searches for weapons in houses, shops and stores in the districts and also any other explosives.

The main roads and junctions in the same areas were blocked and in this way, the public transportation was disrupted so that the people had to go on foot.

One anguished resident said, "We are always subjected to untold sufferings and ordeals by the turbulent men dressed in the government uniforms; we are robbed of our possessions including the mobiles [cell phones], jewelry and money, [there is] no where to escape [to] and here is [a] terrible place to live in".

Meanwhile, there have been road side bomb explosions and subsequent gun battles in Hiliwaa district, north part of the capital, Mogadishu on Saturday evening.

Conflicting reports of the casualties are emerging so far; three Somali police and two civilians were killed in the accident according to the witness.

"Hit and run attacks waged on the government soldiers and their allied Ethiopia military in the capital have gradually turned the life in Mogadishu miserable; barrages of the propelled grenades are fired at the military bases in the capital during the night while most of the people are asleep and subsequent gunfire has traumatized the whole community at large", Nasteh Dahir Farah reports from Somalia's capital Muqadisho.
