On April 27 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Grand Vale Dale, 1590 Sunbury Road, the Friends of Dadaab, a local organization that promotes understanding between the Somali Community and mainstream Columbus, will hold a fund raiser to relieve the suffering of the predominately Somali refugees in Dadaab refugee camp in Northeast Kenya.
The event has a primary goal of relieving the suffering of the Somali refugees in Dadaab and a secondary goal of promoting understanding between Main Stream Americans and their Somali neighbors in Central Ohio.
The centerpiece of the evening will be a presentation by the Somali Documentary Project of Abdi Roble’s award winning photographs of Dadaab, as well as commentary by both photographer, Abdi Roble and writer Doug Rutledge, who accompanied Abdi to the refugee camp.
