African Union forces battling Islamist insurgents in Somalia are preparing troops to take over should Ethiopia withdraw more soldiers from the region, their commander said Thursday.
Al-Shabaab militants beheaded a 75-year-old imam in Hudur on Monday night (March 18th), a day after the militants took control of the town, Somalia's Hiiraan Online reported. The militants dumped the beheaded body of Sheikh Abdirahman Moalin Warsame in a hole near his home.
Hooded militants loyal to Al-Shabaab, the radical Islamist group, seized the town of Hudur, the capital of Bakol region, 420 km southwest of Mogadishu.
