Daar Hersi Hoshow

Yesterday, Murders killed cold blooded a traditional Somali peace maker from Hiiraan region. He is not the first one and will not be the last one of the little good people we have in Somalia that is been Murdered day in day out in Somalia.

In Beledweyne, weeks before the criminal assassination of peace and life traditional advocator of the Somali people in Hiiraan region, the traditional leaders of the various clans in Hirran achieved through marathon consultation with ICU forces and Ethiopian army, a peaceful withdrawal of Ethiopian forces with out any bloodshed and destruction of Beledweyne city.

The killing of unarmed and unprotected old man from Beledweyne traditional peace dealers in the middle of the town have little to do with the liberation of Somalia or Islam as some people might claim. The only crime the old man might have committed at that moment was that he saved our brothers and sister from unimaginable apocalyptic in Beledweyne.

Soon after the peaceful agreement was reached with the Ethiopians and the ICU, thousands of displaced and weakened women, children and old people returned to their homes in Beledweyne. What a dedication and achievement is better than that? My respects to the old man his colleagues who saved Beledweyne and their people.

That situation provided International Humanitarian organisations the opportunity to carry out life saving humanitarian interventions thank to the dedication of Hiiraan traditional leaders. Paradoxically, some Islamic groups in Hiiraan threatened immediately some International organisations Like Care International who were willing to save lives of innocent people who are seriously affected by droughts and insecurity in Hiiraan knowing that these elements have nothing to offer to their starving people rather than killing civilians and their heroes.

Apart from that and out side the nation’s signal nightmare Mogadishu, the so-called Islamic movements of Somalia has taken a clear clan based dimensions. For example, the terror and assassinations in Bay and Bakool towns and villages are exclusively against people from the area and are carried out by Islamic groups mainly from the clans of the regions.

Similarly, in Beldweyne it is not Somali multi-clan Islamist warriors who are claiming to liberate Hiiiraan (not Somalia) against Ethiopians but are people from the different clans and sub-clan of the region who are terrorising their alleged brothers and sisters to over rule other clans and sub-clans and they are killing indiscriminately for that case.

Many of us still could remember the brutal killing of innocent teachers including a woman in Beldweyn.

I strongly doubt that the recent killing of Afgoy district leader has something to do with any liberation of Somalia against Ethiopia. I strongly assume that those actions serve literally and deliberately the long term occupation of Somalia by Ethiopians and other elements. For example, in kismayo we all know that many innocent people have been killed during the fighting between Islamists groups and criminal clan organised Militia.

However, one of the major things that the new totalitarian reign in kismayo want the world to know was that they changed the name of Kismayo Airport into a historically disputed name called Ahmed Gury. What is the aim of that act is a question that many normal thinking Somalis might have asked themselves correctly. However, the answer of that question is very simple. The name implies that the Kismayo new masters are new Ahmed Guryes although some people say Ahmed was an Oromo while others believe that he was a Somali liberator against the alleged arch enemy of all Somalis.

However, many people lost their love ones during the recent brutal and criminal fighting between Islamists and Clan Militia in the middle of Kismayo city. Is that the liberation of our people and country?

Absolutely no, the liberation of our people must start everywhere with dialogue to save the precious lives of our innocent people. Who else are we expecting to do that for us after 16 years of self corrode?

Consequently and finally, I salute and congratulate the traditional Elders and sincere political actors of Hiiraan for their courageous peace achievement for the Somalis in Beldweyne and Hiiraan as a whole. It is a millimetre forward to a long and rock road but an imminent and remarkable step towards hope.

The Beldweyne home grown peace model is the only road which can save our people and rebuild our nation for which generations and generations of Somalis from Zeila to Kismayo are calling, crying and waiting for.

May someone pass my sincere and nationalistic condolence to the family and relatives of the assassinated peace maker and to all other murdered heroes of Hiiraan?
