Title:  Site Supervisor
Duty Station:  Mogadishu, Somalia
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6 Months

General functions:

Under overall supervision of the Project Coordinator for Dan Guud and under direct supervision of the TIS Dan Guud Engineers, the site supervisor shall be responsible for monitoring the rehabilitation/construction activities of the Banadir Districts’ community centers and ensure that high quality construction/rehabilitation is achieved and all work is carried out compliant to the design, technical specifications, and other contract conditions

Responsibilities and obligations of the Site Supervisor shall include but not be limited to:

  • Provide day to day supervision of rehabilitation/construction sites
  • Provide regular and effective monitoring of the rehabilitation activities and contract management with selected contractor under the grant activity.
  • Evaluate the technical components and effectiveness, efficiency of the contractors and partners, ensuring compliance with grant standards as defined in the contract, whilst using the Quality Control Form.
  • Provide regular reporting and feedback on the progress of the activities, including challenges.
  • Prepare and compile, daily Work force Sheets, Summary Work force sheets, and monthly progress reports to the Engineers, including  before, during and after photographs of sites
    • Weekly status updates
    • Monthly Progress reports
    • Final Completion Report: will be submitted immediately after completion of the Contract.
  • To evaluate the contractor’s progress against schedule of work
  • Ensure technical specifications in terms of machinery and labor on site is maintained.
  • Any other task as may be assigned in the field of site supervision.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Certificate in the field of construction works supervision
  • Relevant experience proved by recommendations;
  • Good knowledge of the construction materials market in the Mogadishu, Somalia;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities;
  • Excellent reporting writing skills and basic photography.
  • Knowledge of English language (intermediate level).
