MOMBASA, Kenya — The mother of a top al-Qaida fugitive who was killed in a U.S. raid in Somalia is demanding to see her son's body.
Aisha Abdallah spoke to The Associated Press from her apartment in Mombasa, Kenya. She said she has not received any official confirmation that her son, Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, was killed in Monday's raid.
Nabhan, a Kenyan, was wanted for the 2002 car bombing of a beach resort in Kenya and an attempt to shoot down an Israeli airliner.
Three U.S. officials familiar with Monday's commando raid confirmed he was killed.
Abdallah said she wants "to see the body of my son before it is buried."
