It is one of the signs of the hour (القيامة) that scholars will be taken away by Allah, thus knowledge will be less and everyone shall speak!. Referring to human beings are holier the word of Allah. Doubtless to say, the sanctity of the Muslim’s blood is so important that, in an authentic hadith narrated by Ibn Majah, Abdullah Ibnu Umar said: I saw the messenger of Allah salallahu alaihi wasallam in circumambulation around Ka’abah saying to it: How magnificent, how fragrant, how great, how great your sanctity, but by Him in whose hand is my soul, the sanctity of the blood and property of the believer is greater than you, and to have good opinion about the believer too. There are many verses and hadith which highlight on the extreme danger of killing a believer. (Surah An-Nisaa, verse 93; Surah Al Furqan verse 68-69; The hadith of Anas Ibn Malik reported by Bukhari and Muslim, that the prophet included killing a believer in the category of the major sins .etc) There is no point to derive a comparison between the Spirit of Allah in the creation of Man and the word of Allah as the Quran.
The happiest I become in refuting a daring enemy of Islam with hidden agenda who tries to deliberately twist the meanings of Islam; nevertheless, I am stricken with a blend of pitiful emotions and frustrations to note an innocent person who conveys wrong message for a right purpose.
In this article, Human Beings are Holier than the Holy Quran, there are four dangerous points:
- Total misunderstanding of the meaning of the Spirit of Allah ( روح الله )
- Underestimation of the grandeur and sanctity of the word of Allah (القراءن)
- Illogic comparison between the Spirit of Allah and the word of Allah ( Quran )
- Misleading premise which portrays the Quran as condoning killing of Humans
To start with, The Spirit of Allah ( روح الله ) does not mean the essence of Allah itself.
Believing in that leads to association of partnership with Allah. The word “Spirit” came in the Quran in different meanings and does not in any form, size or shape denote that of Allah. When we say بيت الله House of Allah, ناقة الله the she-camel which was a miracle for prophet Saleh, likewise, روح الله it does not mean part of Allah. Otherwise the Mosque as Beytulllah and the she-Camel would also be part of Allah. It simply means the house in which Allah is worshipped, the she-camel created by Allah and the Spirit created by Allah. Meddling with a theological field which demands deep understanding without knowledge is itself a very complex ignorance!.
It could be, as I always attentively anticipated, an indirect missionary handiwork which is aimed to belittle and defile the Quran and send a message relating to the creation of Jesus (Isa) Alihissalam. The claim of the creation of Isa (Alihissalaam) from the Spirit of Allah as unique has already been refuted by the same mention of the creation of Adam from the Spirit of Allah too. In Surah Al Hijr 26-29. In Surah Sad 71-72. Even in Surah An-Nahl 102, the archangel Jibril is called the Spirit. In Surah Shu’araa, Jibril is named as the trustworthy Spirit. Surah An.-Naba 38 Jibril is called Spirit. In Surah Ghafir 14-15, the revelation is called Spirit. So in the case of Isa, it is no different to that of Adam Alaihamssalam. It simply means the Spirit created and fashioned by Allah.
Let us now come to the virtues of the Quran. If we know that the Spirit is not an essence and an attribute of Allah, in other words part of Allah, but created by Allah, then there is nothing holier than the Quran. The Quran indeed is an attribute of Allah as His speech. There was in the Islamic history, a well know tribulation in which some deviant groups held the Quran as the word of Allah was created. The Quran is NOT a creation of Allah rather it is an attribute of Allah, which is His speech. Allah does not create His attributes. The Spirit in Man is what Allah created, as explained above, but the Quran is the speech of Allah. No doubt that the latter is much greater and nobler than the former. Furthermore, there is no need for a comparison between the two.
Human Beings, is a collective common noun. It gathers both the believer and the disbeliever. How can a disbeliever (Kafir) be holier than the Quran?!. In Surah Tawba verse 28, Allah says: The polytheists (Mushrikeen) are unclean (Najas). O’Ye who have attained to faith! Those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God are nothing but impure. Of course, this impurity and uncleanness is by the heart, not physical.
How come then a disbeliever in whose heart is full of impurity of ascribing divinity to other than Allah be holier than the Quran?!. Please let us not speak out without knowledge.
The notion, Human beings are holier than the Quran, also infers a negative premise.
As if the Quran is a book which justifies violence!. I am sorry but I can no more take in such a grave error and blunder, whether it is out of ignorance or bad intention.
I have shouted enough about the need to differentiate between what the Quran actually says and what someone who claims to be following it might wrongly do.
If the writer of the above article meant: The main purpose of the Quran, as a spiritual constitution is to introduce Mankind to their creator, lead a peaceful life, preserve and protect all the creation, most importantly the human soul. Therefore, how one claim to be following the same Quran and commit murder?!. I would really applaud him and say well done!. Anyone who does anything against the Quran is in fact not following it. The great mistake is to come from the back, make comparison between the Spirit and word of Allah, misinterpret the meaning of the Spirit and mislead readers.
The noble Quran is the word of Allah. It is the infallible book which deals with every aspect of our life. The Quran strongly condemns, warns of very painful chastisement, a punishment in hell fire for the killer of an innocent person. The Quran says the killing of one innocent human equals killing whole of Mankind.
