In the course of history, heads of states were assassinated, elected regimes were toppled, stable societies were destabilized, sovereign nations were invaded and millions of innocent civilians were killed or maimed as a result of covert terror campaigns also known as “false flag operations”.  Perpetrators (countries, corporations, organizations, etc.) employ illusive propaganda or political gambits to justify their aggression.  Greed and domination is the impetus behind this unbridled oppression.  Cultural imperialism is a major component of this domination.   Operations are highly clandestine, what gets exposed is just a tip of an iceberg, which explains why many global crises including Somalia remain insurmountable mysteries.  To comprehend the evolution of this clandestine oppression and its concomitant brutalities on the global stability, history is indispensable.

Himmler Operation

Hitler had orchestrated the “Himmler Operation” to justify his invasion of Poland in 1939. Austria and Czechoslovakia were already annexed.  German troops dressed in Polish uniforms had terrorized German inhabitants near the border with Poland. They vandalized German buildings, burned German radio station (Gleiwitz), customs station at Hochlinden and a forest service station in Pitschen.   Hitler vehemently accused Poland and immediately passed the order to crush Poland.  Some historians argue that Himmler Operation was the pretext of World War II (over 60 million people were killed). [1][2]

Operation Ajax

The CIA and British Secret Services (MI6) had unleashed “Operation Ajax”, a coup which overthrew the democratically elected government of Dr. Mohamed Mussadaq (a pro-American educated in the West) in 1953.  Dr. Mussadaq was elected in 1951. He nationalized Iran’s oil industry to end the exploitation and monopoly of British owned Anglo-Iranian Oil Company.  Initially, Britain planned a military operation to seize Iran’s oil refineries, but decided instead to overthrow Dr. Mussadaq and install a puppet dictator.  Dr. Mussadaq’s valiant action did go far without facing ruthless reprisal.  The CIA had conducted the operation to get a share of the monopoly.  Mussadaq’s regime was toppled, authoritarian monarchy and its brutal secret police (SAVAK) trained by US took over.  Dr. Mussadaq finished his life in jail and house arrest, but his ministers and supporters were executed.

The tools that the CIA and MI6 employed were included but not limited to bribery, propaganda, demonstrations, assassinations of prominent religious leaders, agents of influence including ex-Iranian Nazis, bombing of mosques, violence against civilians, and financing of tribal conflicts.  Kermit Roosevelt (grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt) was the field commander of operation Ajax who openly bragged about his role in this terror campaign against Iran.  A fuming and implacable campaign (political, economical and military) that some political analysts define as the “Cold War II” is now building up to subjugate Iran again and eradicate the ideals of the Islamic revolution that extricated Iranians from the exploitation of the West. [3][4][5][6]

The Tonkin Resolution

In 1964, President Lyndon Johnson accused North Vietnam of attacking two American destroyers in the gulf of Tonkin. Johnson’s secret plan was to get congressional authorization for the use of force against North Vietnam.  The ships were part of aggressive US plan to sabotage North Vietnam and escalate a searing tension into a full scale war.  According to documents declassified by the National Security Agency, Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library and Museum as well as other related documents, the alleged attack on US ships on August 4, 1964 was unsubstantiated. It was a ruse fabricated to mislead Americans and the world.  Johnson immediately passed the “Tonkin resolution” which unleashed the Vietnam War (59, 000 Americans and several million Vietnamese died).  Despite Johnson’s misleading rhetoric, the motive was consistent with what Tim Weiner in his book (Legacy of Ashes: the History of the CIA) described President Eisenhower’s doctrine as one fixed to “do everything in its power to alter or abolish any regime not openly allied with America”.  [7][8] [9]

Operation Mongoose

Fidel Castro was not only lucky but resilient as well to fend off CIA clandestine operations.   “Operation Mongoose” was another CIA orchestrated gambit to overthrow Castro and his regime.   It comprised of psychological warfare, propaganda, sabotage and military.  The “Pay of Pigs Invasion” in 1961 was a defeated military attempt to invade Cuba by US trained Cuban exiles.  Castro was portrayed as an enemy of America simply because he did not bend to the dictates of the Whitehouse.  President Kennedy approved operation Mongoose in his third month in office to implement the pledge he had made in his inaugural address enunciated to "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and success of liberty." The success of “liberty” here denotes the success of US corporate interests.  [10]

Operation Northwoods

After the failure of the Pay of Pigs Invasion, the Northwoods operation kicked off.  No incidents of Northwoods have been reported.  Here are some excerpts from the Body of Secrets by James Bamford about this operation.

“[Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Lyman] Lemnitzer was a dangerous -- perhaps even unbalanced -- right-wing extremist in an extraordinarily sensitive position during a critical period. But Operation Northwoods also had the support of every single member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and even senior Pentagon official Paul Nitze argued in favor of provoking a phony war with Cuba. The fact that the most senior members of all the services and the Pentagon could be so out of touch with reality and the meaning of democracy would be hidden for four decades.”

"According to secret and long-hidden documents obtained for Body of Secrets, the Joint Chiefs of Staff drew up and approved plans for what may be the most corrupt plan ever created by the U.S. Government. In the name of anticommunism, they proposed launching a secret and bloody war of terrorism against their own country in order to trick the American public into supporting an ill-conceived war they intended to launch against Cuba. Codenamed Operation Northwoods, the plan, which had the written approval of the Chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami, and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war.” [11]

Operation Gladio

“Operation Gladio” (sword) also known as “Super NATO” was a US led “NATO stay behind” terror campaigns in Western Europe aimed to discredit leftists. Its atrocities were mainly ubiquitous in Italy as communism was popular there then.  Between 1968 and 1978, 2498 terrorist acts related to Gladio were reported.  The Bologna massacre, the kidnapping and assassination of Prime Minister Aldo Moro and five of his aides were among the most appalling crimes of that operation.  On August 2, 1980 a terror bomb exploded in Bologna train station which killed 85 people and wounded more than 200 others.  Moro was kidnapped on March 16, 1980 and murdered on May 9 by Red Brigades (militant communist group).  Moro was working on a plan to solidify Italy’s political stability by inviting the communists into the government.

Moro, as Italy’s foreign minister then had visited the US four years before his death. He was threatened to give up his political plan or face dire consequences.  After his death, Moro’s widow stated what she described as Kissinger’s threatening statement to her husband - “You must abandon your policy of bringing all the political forces in your country into direct collaboration…or you will pay dearly for it.’’ It was reported that the CIA had infiltrated the Red Brigades, and those who carried out Moro’s assassination were CIA informants.  In 1990, European Parliament passed a resolution condemning Gladio and requesting further investigations.  If European governments were not able to fend off covert operations to protect their citizens, what would be the chances of poor nations? [12][13][14]

The War on Terror

The invasion of Iraq under the false pretext (Al-Qaeda & weapons of mass destruction) attests that imperialism is as fervent as it was decades or centuries ago. Noam Chomsky expressing his thoughts regarding why Iraq was invaded said, And the actual reasons I think are not very obscure. First of all, there is a long standing interest. That does not account for the timing but it does account for the interest. And that is that Iraq has the second large oil reserves in the World and controlling Iraqi oil and even ending up probably with military bases in Iraq will place the United States in an extremely strong position to dominate the global energy system even more than it does today. That's a very powerful lever of world control, quite apart from the profits that comes from it. And the US probably doesn't intend to access the oil of Iraq; it intends to use primarily safer Atlantic basin resources for itself (Western Hemisphere, West Africa). But to control the oil has been a leading principle of US foreign policies since the Second World War, and Iraq is particularly significant in this respect. So that's a long standing interest. On the other hand it doesn't explain the timing.[15]

Transitional Federal Government

Somalia is a failed state.  Its failure is often attributed to visible elements of violence (tribal conflicts, warlords, religious insurgents, etc.).  But, extremely powerful covert elements which fuel the violence are hidden from the masses. That is why bloodshed is incessant and Somalis are powerless.  International efforts to help Somalia stabilize have been undermined by these mighty sinister forces which have transformed the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) into a false flag operation.  This campaign to dismantle Somalia has been going on for quite some time. Ethiopia and Kenya which colonize Somali territories (Ogaden region & Northern Eastern Province) are mandated to be the key players in this war against Somalia.  In 1970’s, Kenya and Ethiopia supported by other countries collaborated to train and harbour Somali armed factions (SSDF, SNM, USC) to destabilize Somalia.  Ethiopia became the base for all those insurgents.  Breaking Somalia into warring fiefdoms was an integral piece of their agenda which looks successful to date.  Ethiopia and Kenya are bent on to weaken Somalia in order to extend their domination and further exploit its resources.  Ethiopia temporarily invaded Somalia in 2006 and remains to act as an invader.  Kenya has extended its exploitation to the continental shelf of Somalia under a ruse document (memorandum of understanding) involved by the UN and Norway. [16]

Literally, the TFG is bulwark against stability serving the interest of foreign entities.  It became a tool to disunite Somalis, marginalize the public, keep insurgents alive, and legitimize the presence of foreign forces on the pretext of protecting a legitimate Somali government.  It is dominated by corrupt minions who are accountable to those who put them in power and pay their salaries.  War of religion is part of the campaign to keep Somalia invaded by foreign forces.   Ethiopia is run by a Christian minority while over sixty percent of its population are oppressed Muslims.  Somalia’s weakness is calculated as virtual security for the domination of the Christian minority in Ethiopia.  Kenya also oppresses huge Muslim population.  Privations in Northern Eastern Province which emulate atrocities in Somali Region (also known as Ogeden region) explain the solid solidarity between the two countries in their war against Somalia.  To mask the sheer brutalities spearheaded by Ethiopia and Kenya, other Christian forces (Uganda & Rwanda) are summoned under the guise of IGAD organization (Intergovernmental Authority on Development).

Kenya and Ethiopia are not the sole beneficiaries of Somalia’s failed state. European fishing fleets which exploit Somalia’s offshore living resources are part of the problem. They use false flags (Belize flag) to circumvent international laws.  These technologically advanced fleets have destroyed local fishing boats to hinder them from the productive fishing areas.  To protect their livelihoods, local fishers have armed themselves to what later escalated to the mystery of piracy. Industrial nations also use Somalia as dumping grounds for their nuclear wastes.  [17][18]

The infiltration of Americans and Europeans into the Islamic Courts Union (ICU); the breakdown of ICU into warring factions (Al-shabab, Hisbul Islam);  Al-shabab’s extremely radical doctrine which contravenes some fundamental Islamic tenets.  All these issues raise questions about how safe these religious groups are from being indirectly controlled by enemies.  If the Red Brigades were infiltrated, it is plausible that among Al-shabab leaders are informants. We sow already a few pretentious jihadists had openly crossed the line. Among them are Sheikh Sharif (TFG President and former Commander in Chief of ICU) and Shikh Yusuf Indha Ade.  Shikh Sharif used to implicate his predecessor (Abdulahi Yusuf) as an infidel because of Abdulahi’s relationship with Ethiopia. Sharif now is a super obedient mentee of Melle Zenawi and visits Addis Ababa more than he visits Makkah.  Yusuf Indha- Ade has oscillated between the jihadists and the TFG.  This reflects that the crisis in Somalia is very complex.  There is no easy solution.  The fast majority of Somalis who seem to be hopeless need to wake up, cleanse your hearts and minds with the truth, put your hands together and fight for your sovereignty.
