Mogadishu (HOL) - At least two government soldiers were killed and three others wounded in a landmine explosion in the Waharadde village of Heliwa district in Mogadishu on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses reported that the deceased soldiers were part of the mine detection forces operating in Mogadishu. The bodies of the soldiers were transported to the C.I.D. department, while the wounded soldiers received medical attention at Madina Hospital in Mogadishu.
District officials have not commented on the blast's casualties, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, al-Shabab typically carries out such attacks against government forces and African Union troops.
