‎Somali President-Elect meets top UN Representative in Somalia

    ‎Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali President-Elect Hassan Sheikh Mohamud today held a meeting with the UN Special Representative for Somalia, James Swan, in Mogadishu on Wednesday.

    ‎The two discussed how the United Nations could increase its support to the Federal Government of Somalia. ‎

    ‎This meeting comes as President-Elect Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has held several meetings in Mogadishu with various stakeholders since his election on Sunday.

    Swan thanked outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo for respecting the outcome of the indirect election and continuing to embrace the Somali tradition of conceding defeat graciously.
