In a press statement, Hormuud Telecom accused soldiers operating near Alfamador in Somalia of killing, injuring and destruction of its masts and other infrastructural facilities on diverse dates.

The company said it has borne heavy losses accumulating to millions in terms of provision of phone and data services to its customers since July 2018.

According to the press release, the soldier launched the last attack on Wednesday, March 27, which has since stalled its operations in several villages.

"The Kenya Defense Force have now killed and injured Hormuud staff, destroyed our infrastructure and their actions have had a significant impact on the provision of phone and data services to large communities who depend on our networks," said network provider."

The company disclosed it will seek legal redress once it collects enough forensic evidence linking the Kenyan soldiers to the allegations.

TUKO.co.ke tried to reach KDF spokesman but out texts and calls went unanswered.
