The Ethiopian Under-23 Football team on Wednesday, 14 November 2018, beat its Somali counterpart 4-0 at the Addis Ababa stadium.
The return match will be held in Djibouti on Tuesday.
This result puts the team at a huge advantage for the return match and to pass on to the next stage, where it will meet the Mali Olympic team.
The qualification match is in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
