Kenyan security officials are on high alert after reports on Friday that suspected Al-Shabaab militants had struck Damas in Mandera County.
The militants are reported to have struck Damasa Town and destroyed a communication mast and a water pump.
An intelligence report indicated that on Friday morning, 13 lorries carrying the militants, from El-Adde in Somalia, were seen in the dusty town.
It reported that the entourage was headed to Borache, Somalia, and were suspected to be on a mission to attack military camps belonging to the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) or the Somalia National Army.
