A local mayor in El-bur locality of Galgadud region Abdi Hassan told Xinhua the government forces backed by the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) killed the two after an operation in the area.“Our forces today killed two senior Al-Shabaab officials in a raid conducted during a joint operation with Amisom soldiers. One of them, Mohamed Ina daab-ynabo was in charge of tax collection,” Elbu Abdi Hasan said.
“This move come after Somali government and AMISOM forces launched an operation against the group in El-gohle area. We are now in full control of the area,” he added.
A witness said there was heavy fighting in the area.
“There was a clash between the two sides for some time in the area but we were a little far from the area so we could not get more information about it,” he said. Enditem
