KAMPALA (HOL)----A Ugandan police officer has shot dead four people before killing himself, the latest incident involved in a security agent in the East African which is often criticized for failing to provide legal counsel for its soldiers returning from overseas missions.

Residents in Kabong county in Kampala told the local media Friday that the unidentified soldier opened fire on the four persons at a bar in the area before turning the gun to himself.

Seven others were wounded in the incident with the motive behind the attack remains unclear, according to authorities.

Uganda has earlier experienced several similar cases in which soldiers killed civilians at bars. In 2013, an army officer killed ten civilians at a bar in Kampala.

A magistrate court has later convicted the soldiers and sentenced him to 90 years behind bars.

With Uganda contributes large number of peacekeeping forces around the world, handful of the troops are returning home with Post-traumatic stress disorder, the most common psychiatric disorders for the returning troops.

Some of them receive little support, while others suffer in silence, according to Ugandan psychological experts.

The latest incident highlights challenges facing the government of president Yuweri Musaveni which was credited for rebuilding Uganda which sees an improving economy to improve the conditions of its soldiers.

Uganda is the first African nation which contributed the largest army contingents to the African Union forces in Somalia which helped the weak Somali government to reclaim the control of the seaside capital and surrounding regions.

The constant attacks and loss of comrades at their eyes mainly contribute to the increasing number of soldiers suffering from the Post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD] disease, according to experts.
