Somalia offers Egypt nine million hectares as model farm

Egypt’s agriculture minister Salah Helal said the Egyptian-Somali relations are distinguished, hoping to develop them in the fields of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.

That came at the meeting he held with the Somali delegation visiting Egypt at the time being.

The delegation included the minister of livestock Said Hussien Eid, the minister of marine resources Mohammed Omer and other officials.

The Somali officials said that there is a nine-million hectare area of unexploited cultivable land in Somalia that Egypt can exploit as a model farm.
