(ABC 6 NEWS) – A Rochester man is in custody after a dispute while he was waiting in line to get food at the downtown Mosque.
Police say they received a call on Sunday night about a man being impatient at the Masjed Abubakar Siddiq Mosque on North Broadway.
Police say Abbas Abdirahman Mohamed threw a chair at a server, then tried to stab a volunteer several times with a knife. When police arrived, they say Mohamed had left the scene.
The following night officers arrived at the 500 block of 3rd Avenue SE and spotted Mohamed outside of a building. Authorities says when they arrested Mohamed, they found steak knives in his backpack.
Mohamed is facing potential charges of second degree assault and disorderly conduct.
