Somali FM holds talks with Omani counterpart

The Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and Investment Promotion Dr. Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh arrived in Oman’s capital Muscat yesterday to hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

In the meeting which took place at the Omani Foreign Ministry, Minister Beileh discussed Somalia’s development and progress with his Omani counterpart and the Somali government’s efforts at bringing stability and progress to its people and nation which has experienced one of the worst and prolonged civil wars in modern history. The Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah welcomed this update and stated that Oman has, and will, continue to standby Somalia as it moves forward.

The discussions between the two Foreign Ministers also covered cooperative relations and ways to consolidate bilateral relations in different areas. The Somali Foreign Minister thanked the government and people of Oman for their continued direct and indirect support for Somalia throughout its period of turmoil.

In the evening Minister Beileh and his delegation attended a dinner at the Muscat Diplomatic Club hosted by his Omani counterpart and host, Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

During the course of his visit to Oman, Minister Beileh will meet with the Somalia Diaspora and business community as well as Omani dignitaries and senior civil servants to continue bilateral talks.
