MOGADISHU (HOL) ---A car bomb targeting a small restaurant in the Somali capital has killed at least 12 people in the Somali capital, the latest in string of attacks in the horn of Africa nation, police
said.

The car bomb parked outside Banoda restaurant was detonated by remote control after it was parked among other cars outside the restaurant.

Witnesses reported chaotic scenes and pools of blood as bloodied bodies and wounded victims were rushed to hospitals in the city.

No group has so far claimed the responsibility for the latest bombing which comes one day after a United Nations bus carrying employees was bombed in Puntland, a semiautonomous region in northern Somalia on Monday.

Al-Shabab claimed the responsibility for that widely condemned attack in a usually stable region which escaped Somalia's decades-old civil war.

Puntland is on offensive against Al-Shabab which sent hundreds of fighters to the region. The militants who are largely based in mountainous areas in the region have carried out numerous attacks
against government forces in the region.
