Ottawa, Canada (HOL) - The Somali Centre for Family Services hosted their 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner named " Stars of Tomorrow" in Ottawa on November 20th, 2014 at Jim Durrell
The fundraising dinners main goal was to raise funds to sustain the youth programs at the Centre. SCFS we were thankful for the great financial support and participation we received from the community. We had over 30 organization that supported the cause and close to 300 people attended the event that evening. Stars of Tomorrow, shined light on the great achievements our youth have done, while stressing the dire need for the programs to continue to run in order to have a larger impact.
Our goal as the SFCS is to provide various programs that address social isolation, safe and positive integration and healthy living through psychical activities. All in which we provided in safe spaces and accessible language.
Established in 1991, The Somali Centre for Family Services (SFCS), a non-profit organization, aims to help newcomers to Canada integrate and transition into our society. The programs main goals are to encourage our various populations to engage in activities with our community.
Once again, we were touched by the support and generosity we received from our friends. We knew we were not in this alone and serving our children and youth is a common goal that was shared by all.
