Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali Police have confirmed the killing of two traffic police officials in the centre of Somali capital Mogadishu on Sunday.
The officers were killed at the Dabka junction while on duty earlier on the day.
Eye witnesses said that the perpetrators escaped on a small car after carrying out the assassination on Sunday morning.
Somali traffic police Chief General Ali Hersi Barre (Ali Gaab) who talked to the media revealed the names of the slain officers as Isaq Salad Jimale and Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud.
“Every single person of us will die when his/her lifetime runs out—that is what we all believe” said General Barre.
No one has claimed responsibility for the assassination, but it comes as Al Shabab militants threatened that they will stepup attacks against Somali government and AU peacekeepers
