Mogadishu (HOL) - The UK-based Somali charity, Alpha Trust organization has taken care of 10 orphans including boys and girls whose education fees and daily life expenses will be sponsored for a period of one year starting from this week.

The announcement was made by the founder and chairman of Alpha Trust Organization Mr. Dahir Ali Kulmie accompanied Abdisalam Moumin during a visit to the compound of Somali Humanitarian educational development association (SOHEDA) earlier in the week.

“In my capacity as the charity leader, I am here by announcing that we will sponsor 10 orphans and our sponsorship will start from today” Mr. Dahir Ali Kulmie told the media during his visit to the SOHEDA centre earlier this week.

He also donated 500 US dollars in cash to help the process of registration of more orphans pouring into the centre.

The SOHEDA centre in Mogadishu currently holds a total of 94 boys and girls including orphans and some from poorer families whose parents cannot afford to pay for their education fees and daily life.

SOHEDA chairman Mohamed Ali Dahir thanked Alpha Trust for their generous contribution and the sponsorship of 10 orphans for a period of one year.

“Orphanage children and those from poorer families must get their rights for education and good living standards to protect them from becoming drug addicts or falling into the hands of notorious criminals in the country who monopolize children as warriors” SOCHEDA chairman told during meeting with the visiting Alpha Trust organization officials.
