Kismayo, Somalia (HOL) - A suicide bomber has killed at least 6 people after he blew himself up inside the home of a high profile official of the interim Juba administration in the port town of Kismayo, the provincial capital of the Interim Jubba Administration on Friday.
Eye witnesses said that a man wearing a jacket full of explosives has entered the home of Iftin Hassan Baasto, one of the region’s key officials before blowing himself up.
Initial sources indicate that at least 6 people have been killed in the attack while 5 others were injured, although the death toll is feared to rise as some of the wounds are said to be very serious.
Iftin Hassan Baasto who talked to the media said that his bodyguards foiled the attack which was intended to kill him.
“Al Shabab terrorists were behind such cowardly attack” said Mr Baasto who is one of the key counter terrorism officials in the region.
