On Tuesday night in Leek, a 23-year old man was arrested in relation to the fatal abuse of a Somali man in Groningen.
The man from Leek was caught with the help of witnesses, the police say. According to RTV Noord, witnesses declared that a total of four men were involved in the incident.
A broadcast of Opsporing Verzocht helped the investigation onto the suspect’s trail in Leek.
The victim, a 40-year old man of Somali origin, was brought to hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries shortly after. He had no known residence or place where he was staying regularly.
The suspect is in a cel and is awaiting a hearing. He will be brought in front of the examining judge for a trial appearance on Friday.
