Hadi meets GCC chief, Palestinian, Somali Presidents

RIYADH, Jan. 21 (Saba) - President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi met separately in his residence in Riyadh on Monday with each of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) secretary general and Somali and Palestinian presidents.
President Hadi and GCC secretary general Abdullatif al-Zayani reviewed the latest developments of the political settlement in the country based on the GCC-brokered initiative and UN resolutions 2014 and 2051.
Al-Zayani expressed his and all GCC's states support to all decisions the President makes, including the recent ones on the army reorganization, stressing the international community, Security Council and GCC states to achieve the goals of the transition goals.
During the meeting, Hadi and al-Zayani exchanged views about several issues concerning the aid granted by the donors and Yemen's friends currently to begin the implementation of a package of infrastructure projects.
On the other hand, President Hadi met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Hadi praised the Palestinian President's political efforts that have led to the UN's recognition of Palestine as a nonmember observer state, stressing the Yemen's firm and strong attitude to back the Palestinian tight and legitimate cause.
Abbas valued highly the President's support to solve the issues of Palestinians residing in Yemen, lauding the decisions and actions Hadi made to stabilize the country.
They also exchanged views about a number of topics in the agenda of the Arab Economic and Social development Summit being held in Riyadh.
Moreover, President Hadi held talks with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the fraternal cooperation relations between the two countries.
The President expressed his congratulations to Somali President on the success of the Somali presidential elections as an important and basic step to establish the state and government's institutions there.
He underlined the full cooperation of Yemen with regard to the security and stability of Somalia, saying it is importance to Yemen as Somalia is a neighboring country to Yemen.
Hadi pointed that the Somali community in the country is treated as Yemenis in various areas of labor, education and others.
