Business premises and houses have been torched in Somari and Teti areas, Red Cross public relation officer Peter Outa said Friday.
He said two teams of volunteers had been set up at Moyale district hospital in anticipation of casualties with another team on standby once the sound of gunfire subsides.
“Our teams are held up at our offices two kilometres from the scene of the fighting following warning by the police not to access the area until the fighting stops,” he said on phone.
Mr Outa said the clashes started in the early hours of Friday leading to fears of escalated fighting, less than a week after nine people were killing in the inter-clan violence.
