Tanzania coach Kim Poulsen was a dejected man after his charges lost 1-0 to Burundi who became the first team in group B to qualify for the quarterfinals of this year’s Cecafa Tusker Cup.

Kim rued missed chances especially coming at the latter stages of the game where Taifa Stars raided the Burundi defence relentlessly but failed to get an equaliser.

He reiterated that their next match against Somali was a must win especially that Sudan also won their match and they now tied on points.

"We played very well but at the end of the day we could not score the important goals as Burundi remained steadfast and really frustrated us thoughout the game and the condition of the pitch did not help our course."

"I know we are now in a precarious position as we need to win our last match which we will treat like a final but am still optimistic we will reach the quarter finals and also go far in this tournament. I have noted our mistakes and think it will be a different ball game when we play against Somali," Poulsen told supersport.com.

Tanzania are second in group B behind leaders Burundi but tie on points with Sudan who beat Somali.
