The UN Security Council is today expected to extend the mandate of the African Mission in Somalia. The extension will give troops that have been fighting the Alshabab militia an extra 12 months in Somalia. In Nairobi however African Union and United Nations representatives are contemplating the future of Amisom in Somalia. Troops are now set to embark on a mission of stabilizing Somalia after managing to capture key towns once held by the Alshabab.
