Russia - Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov Meets with Ambassadors of African States

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Saltanov on September 13 met with the Ambassadors of Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda accredited to Moscow.

During their conversation they exchanged views on a range of issues relating to the Somali peace process and discussed possible forms of rendering assistance to the authorities of the Republic of Somalia in restoring order in the country, including combating piracy.

The meeting participants reaffirmed the necessity of achieving an enduring national reconciliation in Somalia in the interests of strengthening security and stability in the region.
